SAMPLE CHARACTER: ASSAULT RIFLE/DEVICES BLASTER (AR/DEV)

Type: Intermediate.  Good team blaster with useful AoE and single target attacks.  Retains soloability due to defensive powers in the devices set.  Some limited PvP possible.

Strengths

Good mix of AoE and single target attacks makes this blaster versatile.

Most attacks are ranged which enhances survivability.

Devices secondary adds some good defensive powers which allows effective soloing as well as team based play. 

Weaknesses

Character damage type is mainly smashing/lethal damage, although there is some fire attacks possible.  Smashing/lethat damage is the most highly resisted damage type, especially in the late game.  This resistance is somewhat offset by the high damage output of the set.

Later powers are of limited utility in a team based setting, but can be excellent in the correct situation. 

Other

The epic armour type chosen (Body Armour) has the weakest damage resistance of the choices possible, but this type uses no endurance whatsoever.  This choice was made as endurance use is a frequent problem for blasters.  Other epic choices may suit your playstyle better.  

Recall friend adds to the usefulness of the Auto Turret power as it enables the turret to be moved after pacement.
