What/ where are you playing?

I assume that was adressed to me Norm.

I am on a new server, less than 21 days old apparently, but absolutely chock full of muppets and spammers already.  The abuse of the LFG channel in WoW is absolutely amazing and would get you a ban in CoH in nothing flat.  Al-something or other it is called.  I will look it up for you tomorrow as I am a bit tired right now and soon to be hitting the hay.  Playing an Elf/Druid called Halflight.

Hades was absolutely correct in his description of WoW.  Lots of running, kill minions (while feeling wimpy), run to next area etc.  CoH still gets my vote on lots things but WoW has some good points too.  Not the least of which is no memory leaks...

Lodestar:  For the record my PC spec atm is AMD64 3200, 1gig RAM,  128meg Sli card, 200gig dual SATA RAID.  If that isn't enough to play CoH...well I really don't know what to say tbh.  I thought only Microsoft wrote bloatware?

Ok, I was totally wrong!   :D

The server is called Aerie Peak (EU), but I managed to get my toon character name right!   ;D

I have a lvl 10 paladin there I think :P
Started the day the server came online and only was on there for a day. This was during the I7 crazyness when I couldn't play.

Errr that would sort of imply that the I7 crazyness has ended...  :P

Hope to run into you anyway.  I am only on the ten day trial thing (few days left).  Do you know if I buy a second hand copy, install it and then subscribe is this a valid sign-up by the way?  Or do I have to buy a new boxed version?  I don't want the 30 day trial that comes with the box, I just want to continue this account and I understand that I can't just start subscribing.  (Even though I downloaded several gigs (full game) and my character is limited to level 20.  Why make you download the full game if you still need to buy the boxed set?  ???)

WoW hasn't grabbed me the way CoH did, but it isn't bad.  It is a lot slower to play though.  Maybe I should appreciate the buzzing insects and the flowers more or sommat?  I still find it hard to believe that it takes until level 40 to get "a travel power" (mount).  It is like being a level 5 CoH n00b all the time.  You can't even take swift!

This might make you laugh.  I have been playing with the interface and downloaded Cosmos and some other stuff.  As it is a trial (no manual) and I now have so many extra bits it is hard to find your way around the interface!  Anyway I eventually set the interface up like CoH to save myself some confusion and wondered if there was an CoH autorun equivalent.  Well, I found it and was all chuffed with myself.  I thought "WoW! Great! Now I will actually be able to get around the map in a realistic time".

So I quit the options screen and pressed "R", which I had now configured to be the right key....

All you WoW people probably already know what comes next.  Yes, that's right, my character started walking!  He had been on autorun all the time!  OMFG!  I don't even want to think about playing WoW on walk... ::)

I tihnk you have to buy a new boxed version, not too sure, all i know is i installed the game used the 10 day free trial fm my gf's account, finished that, bought one of those 60day game cards so i didnt have to subscribe properly, and it turned out i needed to buy the boxed new game anyway to even use this bloody card, peeved me something rotten

If you play as a rogue you get a kind of extra running power, lasts for about 15 seconds and makes it seem a lot better, but like i said, it lasts for about 15 seconds, then has a cool off period of about 2 mins, so its a bit lame in that respect

I didnt really play it enough to make a full decision on WoW, but it seemed to have a lot of promise but needeed some tweaking to my taste, i found the combat system was dull and un-intuitive and required more input from the user, whereas CoX your mish comes up on the nav bar and it directs you to it or tells you the jist of it "kill X of group Y" WoW you need to read the mission description and look for the objectives and where it all is... that bored me.

but thats it for the ramblings of a biased loon
