Title: Good gods! Post by: Schlee Marduk on July 15, 2008, 12:33:51 PM To share, the worst random group I've had in. well, a LONG time.
here I was, playing my little wolf spider when I got a random invite. No tells or anything, just in invite to group. But I thought, why not? Turns out the leader was two lvls above everyone, playing at invincible. Ok, with tactics and care that is still possible. In theory. However at the start of the mission one of the players goes afk for what turns out to be 20 mins. Then it turns out that both MM's think that actually healing their group is overrated. So we all end up in jail (except for the afk guy of course). No problem we can do that, now we know we need tactics. Right? Wrong. Our MM leader decides that the BEST course of action the moment he opens the jail cell is to shoot at the nearest mobs. Regardless of where the rest of us is, or what state we are in. And without warning of course. Also, for some reason said MM also thought that pets were not needed in this situation, so never bothered actually getting them up. After a while they finally get their act together and attack a mob at the same time. By then afk guy had come back too. So, we're fighting along. Its hard, its diffucult, but we manage. Then JUST as the leader attacks a mob with two bosses in it, he say's he's going AFK, at which point the other afk'er decides to go get a drink too. Strangely enough, we all ended up in jail again. At which point I decided I REALLY had somewhere else to go. The bad part was, they both had 12+ months in vet rewards. Foruntately my next random grouping was with someone with no vet rewards that ran as smooth as you'd want. Title: Re: Good gods! Post by: Wolfy on July 15, 2008, 10:08:25 PM those guys/girls sound like they have know brains or an inkling of what can be called a braincell, retards -.-', i may only have jus got my nine month vet but seriously, i was an experienced player by 3-4 months, albeit to some it may be a while but whenever i can ACTUALLY get a team, the ones that are 6 months are worse than those just starting out, i mean you at least learn something in the first month

;D Title: Re: Good gods! Post by: mwoodsher on July 22, 2008, 01:42:12 PM I agree with Qui - name and shame!!!!
I may be one of the newest members of Gamma and the forum, but I learnt from amazin teachers in Anghammarad, Qui, Coggy etc. I only have my 6 month vet badge, but of course I'm still learning and certainly don't know it all. At the end of the day, its your leisure time, so enjoy it anyway you see fit. If that group of "players" wants to mess around like they did with you Schlee, then let em get on with it. When you're in a good team, CoH/CoV is brilliant, when you're in a bad team its so frustrating. For example I was asked to "farm" a mish a few weeks ago, and the team's idea of farming was for me to lk someone and then stand at the back whilst the higher lvl toons attacked the mobs. I followed them around for about 10 mins and then asked why they told me not fight. They said, "we're farming so sit back and watch the xp rack up." Fine, but I'd actually like to play the game rather than watch other people play!!! Losers - I left straight away! Tanus Title: Re: Good gods! Post by: Schlee Marduk on July 22, 2008, 02:02:06 PM I'd happily oblige you, but to be fair I have NO clue what they were called anymore.
I remember it because they were so bad it started being funny again, but given my play style I doubt I'll meet them ever again due to them being 10 lvls higher at least next time I log her on. The moment an oppertunity presented itself I left. Just felt bad for the poor person I had lackeyed to me, but I hope he was smart enough to leave too. It wasnt anyone from the SG or coalitions and apart from that I really didnt care :) Title: Re: Good gods! Post by: coggy on July 26, 2008, 01:12:57 PM I agree with Qui - name and shame!!!! Tanus there does tend to be a lot of that when you hit 45-46 , i only do that if im bored and can do some stuff round house :) , afk for 10-15 mins go vac the house or clean bathroom i dont make a point of it especially on toons i enjoy btw made probably 7-8 levels on all my toons in 4 yeays of play Title: Re: Good gods! Post by: Major Fox on August 01, 2008, 06:54:41 PM Yeah. I got loads of help when I first started- mainly from Trouble Shooter (one of the old Foxbase leaders). When I first joined foxbase some people would bitch at me for not doing things right, but as soon as they told me what I was doing wrong, I'd fix it. Hence why I'm quite happy to help new players and try to teach them. Its the ones that don't listen and are difficult that piss me off.
I know I can get bossy when I'm on my tank... well most of the time, but especially when I'm on my tank... but then usually as soon as I think that a team is ok I'll quieten down a bit. I think you are right about the 6 months vets tho. A lot of people get in the 3-6 month bracket, and start to think they know everything. I'm well aware that there's a hell of a lot I don't know the game, and that 18 months vet really isn't that much. I guess that was part of the idea with foxbase before gamma. They wanted to have an sg with good players, where they could always log on and know they'd get a good team. Hopefully we're starting to get that with Gamma- but whilst being slightly less snobby too! Title: Re: Good gods! Post by: Schlee Marduk on August 02, 2008, 06:53:11 AM Like I said, it was just those players that annoyed me.
The very day I grouped with someone with no vet rewards who was an excellent player. I cant recall a bad SG or even alliance group in either villains or heroes, so I guess we do ok in that regard :) I'm also getting bored here. Conference is VERY intense and its flippin hot here in Berlin. And they don't believe in AC. Fortunatly it pissing it down today, so I feel right at home :) Flying back tomorrow officially, but in my wisdom I flew Lufthansa and my original flight got cancelled, so they rebooked. I shall find out if that went ok on the airport I guess ;)
