Submission of Articles for Publication

If you have read and enjoyed the guides and articles on this site, but you thought "I can do that!" - well, indeed you can. In fact, we invite you to do so!

We are happy to display submissions providing:

  • They are your own work! Please do not submit other people's work as your own. The internet is a big place. While we will not knowingly publish work that belongs to someone else, you may fool us, but you likely won't fool them. Better to be known as a good writer than a bad cheat.
  • They are relevant. Please confine submissions to topics already covered by this site. If you think there is something that we should cover but aren't already doing so, please drop us a short email giving some details of your proposal. If we agree we may open up a whole new area of the site on your suggestion, but this remains at our discretion.
  • Articles are of a sufficiently high standard. For example we will NOT post a guide that gives opinion without justification ("X" rocks! - with no explanation as to why it rocks).
  • They are written to a good standard of English. While no one here has won any prizes for literature, poor grammar, spelling etc., are all mistakes that detract from the article and the information it is trying to convey. Although we are happy to make some minor amendments and alterations to a submission, we have no intention of rewriting an article.
  • You accept that there will be no payment for your submission. This site is a hobby that I do, with the help of a few others, in my spare time. There is not the finance available to pay you for your submissions at this time. However, all articles will be listed with an acknowledgement of the author by name, nickname, etc.

If you wish to send something to us the best way to do this remains via email. The preferred method is by plain text (.txt) or rich text format (.rtf). Sadly, Word documents sometimes contain macro viruses and so will not be opened, nor will any executables.

Best wishes.

Dave
